Senior Consultant

About the job:

The Red Hat Services team is looking for a Senior Consultant to deliver solutions that solve our client's business challenges through hands-on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. In this position, you will be a vital promoter of adopting Red Hat's solutions for our customers by using your technical expertise and interpersonal skills. You’ll need to have a balance of solid technical experience, awareness of open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and solve issues at the enterprise level.

This position requires candidates to work on-site with clients, so a willingness to travel to customer locations about 30-40 weeks per year throughout North America is required. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business and hold an Active TS/SCI Clearance.

What you will do:

Guide customers in building scalable, optimally managed solutions and adaptable to technological improvements using Red Hat technologies.
Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies.
Travel weekly, Monday-Thursday, to client locations outside your local area.

What you will bring:

Required Experience:
- Experience with delivering an implementation based on an architectural design
- Demonstrated ability to lead a technical project, including collaborating on project timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation
- Ability to identify stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work
- Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders
- Knowledge and desire to mentor
- Active Top Secret Clearance Required
Technical Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a technical discipline
- Experience with deploying or writing applications for one or more application platforms
- Experience with automated release engineering, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and or continuous deployment concepts and tools
- Some experience with Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Experience working with vague requirements and turning them into solutions needed by customers
- Experience across one or more vertical industry areas
- Demonstrated track record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift is a plus
