Job Description
The Washington Post seeks a collaborative and data-driven digital marketer to join our subscriptions marketing team. This person will help further The Post’s subscriptions goals by building our most nascent acquisition marketing channels, including affiliates. They will develop, communicate, and lead strategy for their respective channels. They will define our affiliate marketing foundation and best-practices and drive our day-to-day affiliate marketing operations, and will report to the Manager of Paid Media.

Responsibilities:
Define WaPo’s affiliate marketing strategy. Develop our publisher positioning, messaging and offer strategy. Partner with product marketing team and business stakeholders to align the affiliate marketing strategy with the overall acquisition strategy and key business objectives
Build new processes and systems that allow us to personalize marketing tactics in order to increase volume and ROAS
Utilize our internal CDP to derive analytical insights to identify opportunities to drive further growth among our customer segments
Partner with other members of the marketing team to execute tests to personalize and optimize the subscription experience
Refine and possibly revamp existing subscription flows for paid marketing-referred users, in collaboration with the Onsite Optimization team
Conduct industry research, analyze trends to identify opportunities to drive further marketing customizations, both domestically and internationally
Build and maintain efficient, effective internal team and cross-team operations
Regularly document and distribute reporting and insight-driven learnings and actions to team leadership
Develop and propose new metrics to make actionable intelligence available to business stakeholders
Requirements:
5+ years’ work experience in a digital marketing role (affiliate marketing experience preferred)
Demonstrated experience in deploying various incentives across paid media while maintaining scale and a positive ROI
Expertise planning, executing and optimizing successful marketing campaigns (experience leading an affiliate marketing or direct mail program preferred)
Experience running end-to-end programs with affiliate marketing platforms (CJ, Impact Radius, Awin, Cardlytics)
Ability to clearly and concisely articulate performance reporting and test results to stakeholders
Ability to educate teammates and stakeholders about digital marketing and its value, to drive collaboration and buy-in on program growth
