We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Data Operations team, responsible for data governance and data engineering. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and experience managing cross-functional teams. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of our data systems, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Data Operations team, consisting of data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts.
- Establish and maintain data governance policies, processes, and best practices to ensure the quality, reliability, and security of our data systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, software engineering, and business intelligence, to design and implement data solutions that meet the needs of the business.
- Develop and implement data management strategies, including data warehousing, data lakes, and data marts, to support the organization's analytical needs.
- Drive the team to continuously improve the data infrastructure, automate manual processes, and implement new technologies as appropriate.
- Act as a technical expert and mentor for the team, providing guidance and support for technical decisions and problem-solving.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of data projects.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior management and technical staff.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in data engineering, data management, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Direct technical experience with Databricks and Delta Lake architectures
- Strong technical knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, and data marts, as well as data governance and data management best practices.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts.
- Excellent leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate the team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Must be able to work in PST timezone.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $178,500 - $276,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
