Senior Environmental Graphic Designer / Project Designer

Responsibilities:

• Meet with clients to determine project goals and develop ongoing relationships
• Research City/Town Municipal/Zoning code and processing requirements related to signage
• Responsible for developing design options
• Prepare design documentation preparation from concept to design development. Coordinate with Designers and direct junior staff in correctly documenting design
• Strong project management, time management and organizational skills required to handle multiple tasks to meet develop workplans, mobilize internal staff and meet demanding deadlines
• Understand and manage client and internal workplans and budgets to meet the expectations for hours and deliverables
• Prepare fee proposals, additional service proposals, project budget reports and work with contracts team to make sure contracts are prepared and executed
• Responsible for the project’s financial success. Monthly review and comment on project budget reports and status.
• Review monthly billing and update Studio forecast
• Work with Studio Leadership and WM Marketing to promote Branding services both internally and externally
• In collaboration with Studio Leadership, schedule meetings with prospective and current Branding clients
• Develop relationships with key vendors including but not limited to printers and signage fabricator

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience
• Expertise in Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), CAD Tools
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel and SketchUp
• Hand sketching ability to communicate concepts a plus
• Excellent design skills, and capable of pushing limits to explore creative possibilities when appropriate and a strong sense of design for three-dimensional context and environments is a must
• Familiarity with signage fabrication, installation techniques, materials and construction specifications are required
• Must be capable of reading and understanding architectural drawings, shop drawings as well as, building and ADA code requirements.
• Ability to prepare production-ready art files for fabrication
• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent from an accredited university, preferably in the Environmental Graphic Design realm
