Target Responsibilities
- Accept, embrace, and promote the following Core Values of CONSOL Energy: Safety, Compliance, Continuous Improvement, and Cost.
- Manage the geological and geotechnical characteristics of the mine environment through roof scoping, geological mapping, auditing, and sampling of underground gate roads, interpretation of geologic structures and interpretation of drilling results.
- Perform underground roof scoping to identify the immediate roof geology and fractures and evaluate the quality and stability of the roof.
- Based on roof scoping and surface core hole data, create and maintain up-to-date geology cross-section maps.
- Conduct underground geological mapping to identify geological anomalies and potential risks and provide roof/rib support recommendations to mine management.
- Based on the information collected from roof scoping, surface core hole, and underground mapping, create and update comprehensive geologic maps and provide projections for potential geological anomalies.
- Assist with geomechanical engineer to provide supplemental support recommendations for gate road development and longwall retreat to mine management.
- Assist with geomechanical engineer to provide geological advice related to the mine’s current and future plans.
- Assist with geomechanical engineer for other projects related to geotechnical services.
