Senior International Consultant
We will count on you to:
Provide solutions for benefit needs of multinational companies, including benefit audits, multi-country benchmarking, multinational pooling studies and pool management, local and global pension plan administration and annual insurance policy renewals. Responsible for management of more than 10 different client relationships, with multinationals that have a global footprint, including managing the insured/non-insured benefits needs in LATAM, Europe, and Asia. Support multinationals within the industries of High-tech, Life Science, Pharma, Logistics. Assist multinationals with presence in more than 40 countries by liaising with Mercer subsidiaries in the implementation of benefits according to market practice. Support multinational clients in the on-going management of policies/benefits in place. Manage multi-year projects, including a detailed review of pension and insurance benefits to local employees in multiple countries. Design cost-efficient and relevant global and local employee benefits. Oversee application of governing plan document, insurance policies and internal HR policies. Analyze and validate data manipulating large data sets in Excel to perform complex benefit calculations. Handle internal and external research while providing clear directions. Present findings in response to client and employee queries in formal and ad-hoc situations. Prepare employee communications such as benefits statements and other employee education materials. Provide benefits administration support to multinational clients. Advise multinational clients on local legislative changes that may impact the design and administration of their benefit plans. Engage directly with clients in formal and ad-hoc situations. Work across global people and reward issues, including Wealth, Health, Career, Wellbeing and Engagement, and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). Help organizations plan and sustain a holistic strategy to ensure equality of opportunity, experience and pay for their employees. Act as the day-to-day contact that is able to provide updates on local country activities and proactively identify and escalate issues with our clients. Provide proactive advice around the opportunities to optimize the way benefits are managed globally, including effective use of local resources, brokers, consultants, and third party providers. Keep abreast of changes in legislation, market practice or otherwise, to identify issues that clients should be addressing. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to integrate our services with other business units across the organization and working alongside Senior Consultants to support cross-selling opportunities. Work with the Global Benefits Management (GBM) team to ensure updates to the status trackers and population of data in the appropriate benefits inventory tool or databases. Effectively manage projects using established project management trackers and technology to provide high-end deliverables across all countries. Work with relevant parties to ensure broker-of-record letters and statements of work are in place. Engage in dialogue with in-country consultants and brokers as needed, to ensure local issues are resolved with support from the GBM team. Participate in regular calls both internally and with the client to communicate progress and resolve outstanding matters. Review local broker reports and other communications to ensure consistency of style and message, as appropriate. Deal with issues that arise and escalate as appropriate. Ensure that a wider Health & Benefit team is kept appraised of issues and brought into conversations as necessary. Develop regional financial and stewardship reports, as required.
What you need to have:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in any field plus two (2) years of experience in the position offered, or as a Global/International Consultant, Global Associate, Benefits Consultant, or a related position. Must have two (2) years of experience with all of the following: Management of global engagements with US multinational clients covering multiple regions (Europe, LATAM, and Asia) including regional and local brokerage execution, medical, risk insurance, and market trends for insured benefits; Serving as an advisor supporting multinational companies with at least 15,000 employees spread across 20+ countries, on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) projects, including fertility, adoption, surrogacy, transgender and disability; Providing solutions for the benefits needs of multinational companies, including benefit audits, multi-country benchmarking, multinational pooling studies and pool management, local and global pension plan administration or insurance market; Managing multiple projects within budget; Analyzing, validating and manipulating large data sets in Excel to perform complex pension and other benefit calculations; Training junior staff on global benefits management, including medical and risk benefits, insurance underwriting, and financial mechanism; Utilizing Microsoft Excel including SUMIF, COUNTIF, Vlookup functions and detailed pivot table for analyzing, validating and manipulating large data sets; and Writing client communications, including proposals, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations. Travel reqt: 20% national travel is required to various and unanticipated company and client sites.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $120,000-$180,000 per year.
