Senior Logistics Project Manager - Grand Prairie, Texas
PRIMARY DUTIES
Subject matter expert covering Americas Region, providing expertise in Logistics and distribution topics highly preferred; Leading complex projects to assist the organization on proper planning execution and tracking projects from start to finish in order to improve performance, efficiency, and capabilities to meet rapidly changing business requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage large-scale transversal Logistics & Distribution projects:
- Will plan, organize, animate and lead complex projects and/or programs in accordance with Group Logistics & regional project management methodology/governance.
- Work with all the identified stakeholders to ensure delivery of successful and high-quality projects on time and within budget.
- Identify logistics evolution needs for our network and be accountable for the processes and methods to support our target logistics transformation.
- Work on end-to-end capabilities to enhance monitoring, visibility, quality and efficiency of our logistics flows.
- Collaborate with others regional functions such as Information Technology, Security, Building and office services, Health, Safety and environment, Client Relation Center and others regional entities Canada, Mexico, Brazil.
- Monitor performance metrics and measurements; maintain a deep understanding of variables impacting key performance metrics, contributing input and support to the teams in achieving targets.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigating strategies.
- Handle interactions with numerous stakeholders and provide regular project status updates, communicating to regional functions & Group logistics leaders in a context of animating steering committees.
- Lead projects, applying logistics concept and lean methodologies to new operational and distribution flows and models.
- Manage potential selected vendors including but not limited to infrastructure, automation, mechanization, storage media, material handling equipment or new digital applications.
- Partner and coordinate with key vendors on post deployment programs and actions to ensure operational continuity.
- Conduct required complex analysis in support of transformation project, to ensure operational flows, capacity, and throughput are properly considered in new design.
- Assist operations in change management efforts related to new/updated process flows and procedures resulting from new deployments of layouts, equipment, storage media, automation, etc.
- Coordinate with the Solutions and Systems team on all potential enhancements of our Logistics IT template.
- Establish metrics to monitor savings as compared to established goals and targets.
Conduct ad hoc studies related to operational development:
- Provide methodology and expertise to conduct studies on demand from Group logistics/Maisons Supply Chain in a context of regional needs.
- Manage complex studies, evaluation, problem solving, analysis and planning to support logistics operations.
- Realize benchmark for logistics and supply chain. Facilitate the integration of innovation tools, processes and/or methodologies inside our logistics organization.
- Provide operations team with necessary support and guidance for improving utilization of resources including but not limited to direct and indirect labor, equipment, and space.
- Support studies and technology deployments within operations, e.g, automation, digitalization, etc.
JOB PROFILE
Education:
- Master degree from an accredited University preferred
Required Experience:
- Significant and proven work experience in a logistics or manufacturing operation with project experiences
- Knowledgeable of project methodology, Data collection and trending, Lean Concepts, IT, supply chain, transportation
- Previous Experience in Management of an operational team is a plus
Technical Skills / Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database, Access, Project)
- Continuous improvement mindset with a thirst for learning and finding new and innovative solutions to complex issues.
- Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to perform analyses and identify solutions to resolve specific distribution and logistics needs.
- SAP ERP and EWM experience a plus
- Data mining – SQL experience a plus
- Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma concepts and applications
- Ability to analyze costs related to all aspects of fulfillment and distribution operations
- Proven project management experience required
