Going greener is top of mind, so we've partnered with Terracycle to recycle the unrecyclable and began producing only PCR plastic bottles in 2022. amika is a Climate Neutral Certified organization, Leaping Bunny Certified and Certified Vegan.

Job overview:
The Senior Manager, Professional Salon Marketing will lead strategy development and execute growth and retention initiatives with a focus on building long-term relationships with salons and stylists. A successful candidate will be highly analytical as well a proactive thought leader for developing innovative and valuable engagement programs for network salons. This person will champion the needs of the professional and ensure consideration of the stylist perspective. This is a global, cross-functional role with an emphasis on North America and would have significant shared P&L impact.
Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid in-office/work from home schedule, with 3-4 mandatory trips per year to HQ in Brooklyn, NY which are paid by company)
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 + benefits
Key Responsibilities:
Salon Engagement & Growth:
- Drive strategy and execution of salon customer journey to trial, onboard, retain, build loyalty, and increase lifetime value
- Act as a key partner to trade marketing in the development of the global promotional & visual merchandising strategies for professional distributors
- Develop & execute salon intro assortment and pricing strategy in conjunction with sales, trade marketing, and field
- Own the global salon merchandising strategy, incorporating key feedback from distributors and field, and partnering with trade marketing for development and execution
- Present annual promotional calendar & salon growth strategies/programs to key distributor accounts
- Develop and launch a salon ambassador program to support key personnel within network salons
- Lead all activities associated with the salon affiliate program, developing & executing an annual strategy that drives program growth as well as overall brand loyalty and in-salon productivity
Salon Loyalty Program:
- Develop and communicate the salon loyalty program vision, strategy, and initiatives and lead the successful roll-out across all customer touchpoints
- Focus on increasing customer advocacy, retention, purchase frequency, and lifetime value and improving overall customer perception and satisfaction
- Develop a cohesive end-to-end customer communication plan
- Develop effective strategies to manage program costs and liabilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the salon customer (participating in research, conducting data analysis, and reading/listening to customer feedback) to effectively serve as the voice of the customer during product development or initiative execution
Community & Events:
- Own the development and management of a global team of top artists
- Partner with consumer engagement and education teams on content strategy for professional communities including influencers and social channels/groups, keeping the stylist POV current
- Lead strategy for professional tradeshows, including annual calendar, budget, and product/education priorities
- Assist in planning & execution of professional distributor and stylist events
Reporting & Analysis:
- Regular reporting & analysis on effectiveness, functionality of strategies & programs including KPIs and how metrics affect each other
- Stay informed on professional industry trends, competitive landscapes and new technologies affecting salons and distribution platforms
- Develop & manage forecasts and budgets individually and in conjunction with sales, marketing, education, and field
Requirements:
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in professional salon industry
- Mix of field & inside sales/marketing experience
- Is comfortable in a salon environment and understands the dynamics of stylist, manager, owner, distributor
- Experience leading and growing a team to meet departmental goals
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Strong analytical and business acumen
- Excellent organizational, written and oral communication/presentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a strong creative focus
- Team player possessing the ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships with cross-functional teams
- Passionate about supporting hairstylists and improving the professional salon industry
- This is a global role but global experience is not necessary.
