Senior Manager, Yield (Recruiting and Admissions)

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Yield will serve as the lead for Purdue University Online’s (PUO) recruitment and admissions teams and plays a key role in driving enrollment of students in non-credit and graduate-level credit programs. This position reports to the Director, Student Experience and is a vital member of the PUO student acquisition team, tasked with developing, executing, and measuring all recruiting, admissions, and yield activities. This position will direct input on the development of student acquisition targets for each newly launching and existing program in the portfolio and optimizes operations, staffing, reporting, strategy to meet program expectations for enrollment-levels and student/learner quality. Importantly, this position works collaboratively with a variety of PUO staff and West Lafayette campus partners to drive development and utilization of Salesforce (leads) and Slate (applicant) CRM systems as well as to deploy new capabilities such as chatbot, chat, texting, video, and direct mail.

Critically, in this position you will identify key business performance indicators in the yield pipeline and establish routine and consistent reporting. Working with IDA+A and other IT partners, this position will develop and maintain data dashboards and reports; analyze yield data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of opportunity; statistical analysis to model and forecast admissions trends and outcomes; and use data to support the development of new programs and initiatives to attract and enroll a diverse and qualified student population.

Finally, the Senior Yield Manager will guide development, evaluation, and evolution of onboarding and orientation experience for new PUO students/learners with the goal of improving readiness and reducing melt. These experiences will welcome the student/learner to the university and to the online modality. This position will coordinate development with program managers and others providing program-level onboarding and orientation to ensure the experiences complement and enhance existing readiness resources. This work will support a seamless transition from the applicant to newly admitted status and serve as a handoff point to the enrollment/registration services team(s).

This position will be filled as fully remote or hybrid.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/management, higher education, student development, or related field
  • Four (4) – Five (5) years of experience in higher education with data analysis and revenue impacts related to yield, working with a diverse population, or in online education required
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered


  • Master’s degree and direct experience in online education

Skills Needed:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and proven success in managing across multiple stakeholders
  • Must demonstrate a service-oriented attitude for working with faculty and students. Knowledge of CRM systems
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate team members. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate with all levels of the university community and the ability to work across organizational boundaries
  • Ability to lead and manage the execution of processes and projects within a team environment
