REPORTS TO: Media Director
SUMMARY: Manages the day-to-day process of all media planning efforts for Clients of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements the process and assists with the management of the strategic and tactical execution of all media products for Clients of responsibility.
- Confers with Media Director, Clients, and/or Account Services to establish media objectives, and strategies for advertising campaigns.
- Implements the management of daily tasks in support of the media product.
- Evaluates composition of a wide range of media vehicles to determine which would most effectively reach the target audience
- Exhibits knowledge of traditional media channels (TV, Radio, OOH, Print).
- Displays strong understanding of Digital Media and Planning skills across all disciplines/platforms (Programmatic, Social, Influencer).
- Confers with media representatives to evaluate best placement.
- Gathers statistics and prepares media plans with directives to guide the buying process.
- Studies demographic data and consumer profiles to identify desired target audiences for print, broadcast, or online advertising.
- Calculates reach and frequency of potential media vehicles.
- Presents media plans to Media Director, Account Services and/or Client for approval and makes adjustments as necessary.
- Writes plan presentations.
- Ability to work on cross-functional teams along with Media (Content & Experience and Planning) to encompass all aspects of the Client's Campaign.
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of the Client's business.
- Keeps current on media trends.
- Motivates team members and encourage innovation and creativity throughout all projects by serving as a role model within the group/team.
- Lead team in setting strategies for developing media plans.
- Present and sell plans to agency management and Clients.
- Occasionally travels to supported markets or client events.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree required.
- 5 + years of Media Planning experience required.
- Strong mathematical abilities required.
- Attention to detail required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks required.
- Strong presentation skills preferred.
- Occasional travel to supported markets or client events may be required.
COMMUNICATION ABILITY:
Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved written or oral instructions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Personal Computer proficiency; MS Office preferred including MS Outlook, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail. This position will also regularly use MediaOcean, Google Campaign Manager, DV360 and/or other media planning and media research specific software
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
May supervise the work of Assistant Media personnel and/or Media Planner/Buyers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Hybrid office environment. Occasional travel to supported markets or client events may be required.
