This position provides senior-level clerical support services to the Physician Assistant (PA) Program within the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions. Duties include maintaining a set of budgetary or financial records, developing and composing correspondence, maintaining student records and clinical schedules, coordinating presenter or guest visits, and supporting the PA Program’s admission and re-accreditation processes. Performs other special projects and assignments as directed by the Program Director, Director of Clinical Education, and the PA Program Clinical Team.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Three years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to three years.
Experience with Microsoft Word.
Customer service experience.
Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains records pertinent to student involvement in the clinical year including certificates of insurance, student health and immunization records, clinical preceptor credentialing files, summative testing results, and PANCE results.
Reconciles all invoices, receipts, and credit cards related or pertaining to clinical year staff, faculty, activities or purchases.
Coordinates callback week, summative testing, capstone presentations, and bi-weekly clinical committee meetings by securing classrooms or space for testing, presentations, and events as needed, ordering summative tests, scheduling and recording committee meetings and correct storage of documents pertaining to the testing, presentations or events.
Develops, prepares, and/or composes responses, memos, and correspondence in support of the Clinical Team in the PA Program.
Maintains schedule for clinical year students and publishes it for their review.
Prepares for outside presenters, preceptors, etc. to visit campus by arranging parking, directions, and compensation for visitors or presenters.
Conducts special projects and assignments as directed by the Clinical Team including preparation of the clinical year handbook and scheduling of clinical year orientation.
Supports the ongoing re-accreditation process and arrangement of clinical-related activities.
Supports the Executive Secretary in the admissions process as well as any other program needs that are identified.
Reviews and updates the Physician Assistant Program webpage.
Performs other duties as assigned.

About the Department
The Physician Assistant Program is a 27-month program housed in The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions which provides the academic and clinical training that prepares its graduates to be certified and licensed to practice medicine with physician collaboration in an ethical, compassionate and professional manner. The first students matriculated in May 1996, and the first class graduated in July 1998. The program was created by CMU to address the health care needs of residents in the northern Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which includes many rural and medically underserved communities. The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions consists of five academic units (Department of Physical Therapy, Department of Physical Education and Sport, Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, the School of Health Sciences and the School of Rehabilitation and Medical Science).
