For our client Goldman Sachs, we are searching for a Senior Operational Risk Manager, with preferably asset management experience.
Last April 2022 the acquisition of NN Investment Partners (NNIP) by Goldman Sachs was completed whereby NNIP will join forces with Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Within the risk management department GSAM is expending their team and is looking for a Senior ORM Officer.
Risk Management GSAM
The Risk department, at our European hub office, is a control function within GSAM, and is divided into specific specialist areas, based on the type of risks. These specialist areas are:
Financial Risk Management
Operational Risk Management
The Risk department has approximately 50 employees. The ORM officer reports directly to the Head of Operational Risk Management.
The position
The current NNIP's ORM team is responsible for actively supporting and challenging the first line responsible staff in managing the operational risks of NNIP / GSAM.
As ORM officer you have two main responsibilities:
1. Business Partner to a part of the NNIP value chain/organization
2. Center of Expertise (CoE) on one or more ORM specific elements
For this role the main focus is on the business partner role for the Sales, Fiduciary management and Product Management and development teams.
Business Partner responsibility. From an ORM perspective we distinguish the following business areas that cover the complete value chain of NNIP (Client, Products, Portfolio Management, Operations, Change Management, Accounting, Reporting, Data Management, Support& Control). You are responsible for supporting and challenging the management of a business area through active maintenance and development of the Integrated Control Framework, performing risk assessments (BaU, project, thematic), analysis of incidents, tracking and monitoring follow up of audit and other actions, testing of controls.
CoE responsibility
There are various CoE's within the NNIP ORM team (incident management, risk assessment, control framework, ISAE/SOC1 reporting, information risk management, business continuity management, security, action tracking, and others). Centers of excellence roles are allocated within the team based on affinity and load balancing.
As CoE:
- You act as liaison with GS functions on that expertise
- You (re)design programs, policies, and proceeded to fit for purpose for NNIP and are responsible for the roll out towards the countries
- You are responsible for developing training and awareness programs on the expertise
- You are responsible for developing appropriate reporting on the expertise and consolidation of reporting
Your profile
- > 6 years relevant work experience in the asset management domain or in a related industry
- Strong (qualitative) analytical skills and relationship management skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate with, and influence, others
- Verbal and written communications skills. Dutch language knowledge is an asset, but no must
- A strong communicator, able to act as a senior advisor, staying calm under different circumstances
- Capacity to think both strategically and out of the box to generate new ideas and solutions
- Attention to detail, proactive, flexible, customer focus, independent, showing vision for ORM
- Sensitivity to different International business cultures
- Affinity with investment funds and structures is a pre
- Strong negotiation skills
