The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will become a member of the Red Hat Finance team reporting to the Payroll Manager for North America (NA). The successful candidate will have a proven record of processing an accurate, compliant payroll and/ or has led day to day payroll operation activities in the NAM region. Duties will include a full array of appropriate customer service skills supporting all aspects of the department. The successful candidate will be able to efficiently leverage their payroll experience while executing local statutory requirements and regulations, as well as, Red Hat’s specific policies and processes. They must partner and collaborate with other Finance teams, Global Process Excellence (GPE), People Team CoEs & Delivery, Program/Enablement Leads and other internal & external stakeholders to deliver payroll services.
What you will do:
Oversee payroll submissions and review/sign-off on prepared payrolls for completeness and accuracy and coordinate activities of payroll staff and daily processing activities
Responsible for accuracy of payroll general ledger reporting and reconciliations, including reconciling ADP invoices against Payroll Reconciliation Report
Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
Responsible for ensuring all restricted stock units processed through the relevant country payroll
Perform review of payroll policies and procedures to ensure processes are efficient and effective, including implementation of process improvements
Resolve customer queries/issues timely and in accordance with internal SLAs, while also providing an excellent customer service experience
Execute all processes in accordance with established business controls and SOX requirements
Create and maintain strong partnerships within People, Finance, and Legal
Responsible for processing of agency notices, resolving vendor exceptions, and ensuring actions are performed timely and accurately
Partner with payroll vendor to manage monthly payroll performance and resolve issues that arise during payroll
Report to management on payroll issues and changes
Provide reports and requested data to management and other workstreams as needed, including internal and external audit requests
Responsible for acting as the point of contact for escalations and providing subject matter expertise on payroll processes, including serving as backup to Payroll Manager when necessary
Oversee quarter-end and/or year-end processing activities, including year-end audits and accounting requests as applicable
Lead special initiatives and projects as needed, including system/process changes, testing, and assisting with global payrolls
What you will bring:
5+ years prior work experience in a fast paced NAM or HR/Finance department environment
Working knowledge of NAM payroll policies, including Business Traveler Tax Compliance, local/regional legislation, overtime and termination regulations for NAM payrolls
Must be an expert in problem solving and data analysis
US GAAP knowledge
Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel (vlookups, formulas, pivots) and other Microsoft Office applications
Individual must be able to easily learn new applications, interpret and analyze payroll data, while being innovative and having the ability to adapt to change
Advanced written and verbal communication skills to effectively resolve issues with associates, the Legal team, etc.; high level of confidentiality inherent to payroll matters
Ability to work in an organized manner with the ability to manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines, at times handling multiple tasks concurrently while maintaining proper prioritization
Experience working in a global organization
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
Working knowledge of Workday, ADP GlobalView or SAP
Exposure to financial processes and internal accounting controls
