Senior People Operations Manager

To solve climate change, wealth inequality, supply chain stability, and national security we must change how our global supply chains work. Altana is a Trusted Commerce Platform built on a shared source of truth for the global supply chain. The purpose of Altana is to enable resilient, sustainable, secure, and inclusive global commerce: Globalization 2.0.

We have built a layer of shared intelligence across the world's supply chain information: a living map of trillions of dollars of B2B commercial activity, covering 400M companies connected by billions of shipments. This knowledge graph powers Altana's Trusted Commerce Platform - the Altana Atlas - which, after only three years since founding, is already used by many of the world's most important governments, enterprises, and logistics providers.

Our product suite enables our customers to gain unprecedented visibility, benefit from shared artificial intelligence across a federated network of data, and interact across the network through a shared source of truth. We help our customers to build and manage trusted global supply chains.

  • The Senior People Operations Manager will be responsible for designing and managing processes that support the employee lifecycle, uphold our values, and enable our team to do their best work. You will play a critical part in setting the framework for Altana's global growth, overseeing a variety of People-related initiatives, such as on- and off-boarding, global benefits and compliance, and employee data management.

    • Coordinate and manage the preparation of all required federal and state reports, including EEO-1, OFCCP, and VETS-4212
    • Own Altana's global benefits portfolio across the US and UK by designing competitive benefits packages, managing open enrollment, communicating benefits details to employees
    • Enable a safe, supportive, and mission-aligned work environment by creating and maintaining policies and procedures in partnership with People, IT and Legal teams
    • Provide first-line support for employee questions about policies, training, benefits, or other Altana processes

    Qualifications:

    • Significant hands-on experience in a wide variety of HR responsibilities across benefits, policies, documentation, and/or first-line employee support
    • Strong understanding of federal HR and employment laws, with direct experience managing federal compliance and reporting
    • Strong understanding of US benefits (UK is a plus) with experience managing or directly supporting open enrollment processes, benchmarking benefits offerings, and crafting total rewards offerings that attract and retain employees
    • Experience building from 0 to 1 with a bias toward action; you have created global policies and processes from scratch, as well as iterated for scale
    • Experience managing the work of others, either directly as a people manager or indirectly as a project manager, in a complex work environment; comfortable with asynchronous work tools (e.g. Google Suite, Confluence, Slack, etc)
    • Excellent communication skills; able to distill complex topics into a format that stakeholders can clearly understand
    • Demonstrates good judgment in ambiguous or unclear situations, approaches others with empathy, and exhibits strong ethics
