What is a day in the life of a Senior Photographer at Pattern?
Shoot for dozens of our partner brands by collaborating with our in-house art directors and producers to identify needed product images, and then plan and carry out shoots
Own the technical aspects of the shoot and retouching work
Convert art direction and product lists into shoot schedules and production plans, deciding how best to achieve the requested results, i.e. studio vs location, capture vs photoshop, shot order, crew needs, etc
Work with a producer to determine resources needed and reasonable timelines for shoots and post-production
Be involved through the entire planning, shooting and post-production process, until delivering retouched and ready-to-use assets
Manage your own schedule, tasks, and time-off - typically alternating shoot weeks with planning and post-production weeks
What will I need to thrive in this role?
5+ years of commercial product photography experience
BFA degree in Photography or equivalent degree/experience
A collaborative mindset to work as a team with art directors, producers, stylists and other crew members
Proficient in Capture One tethered shooting and raw processing workflows
Mastery of lighting and photoshop tools to consistently convert art-direction into final images that match or exceed expectations
Experience in prepping files for remote retouching teams and auditing their work
Experience shooting, organizing, and refreshing product image libraries within an in-house or similar setting
Experience navigating commercial client relationships in a freelance or agency setting
Extreme attention to detail in tracking shot lists, making selects, noting post-production needs, and auditing final deliverables
Ability to lift 50 lbs and meet the physical demands of being on set, traveling with equipment, and long shoot days when needed
Experience shooting events, headshots, and architecture a plus

What does success look like in the first 30, 60, 90 days?
30 Days - You are familiar your team of art directors, assigned brands, and have completed a handful of basic shoots
60 Days - You have completed a major shoot which you have participated in planning from day one
90 Days - You understand the Pattern business model, and how you contribute to Pattern’s success. You understand the people on your project teams and know where you fit in, as well as how to plan and carry out shoots leveraging their talents
What is the team like?
The team has an incredible amount of collective experience and knowledge, while maintaining a very collaborative and supportive workflow. You will work directly with a producer and art director on each project, and may interact with brand managers, product coordinators, or contacts from our partner brands. You will have a lot of autonomy in your role, as well as accountability for your work, but also opportunities to knowledge-share with other photographers, including your manager, the Director of Photography. You will be part of a larger creative team of designers, 3D artists, and videographers and editors. Ideas and input are encouraged from all members.
