Senior PHP API Engineer

CORE by 5th Kind centralizes and secures all digital files to improve collaboration, eliminate duplication and simplify access.

We are looking for a senior backend developer to build new features in our ever-growing platform.

What You will do:

• Working with Software Engineering Manager to develop scalable features
• Analyze feature requirements and deliverables
• Document product architecture, flowcharts
• Take full ownership of the feature you have developed
• Work with QA engineers to fix bugs
• Troubleshoot and maintain core functionalities
• Refactor and improve existing codebase
• Write clean code that meets product specifications and PSR standards
• Create Unit and API test cases to cover the functionality of features
• Train new engineers on the CORE's architecture or codebase

Requirements

• 5+ years PHP skills with high concurrency environment; or if less than 5 years of PHP experience, must have experience with other languages working on the backend
• Minimum 4 years of RESTful API
• Previous experience onboarding and training team members
• High proficiency in MySQL
• Working experience and knowledge in using message brokers such as ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ
• Experienced with caching layers such as Memcache or Redis
• Working knowledge and successfully created event driven or Pub-Sub application
• Working knowledge of test-driven development
• Experienced with PHP frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel
• Experienced with microservice architectures
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as bitbucket
• Experienced with the high-pace development environment
• Experienced and comfortable with estimating tasks during sprint planning
• Good understanding of design patterns and implementing them
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experienced in code quality control frameworks such as Codeception
  

Desired Skills

• Experienced with Elasticsearch
• Experienced with containers or Kubernetes
• Experience and a strong understanding and conceptualization of a VFX pipeline and/ film and TV production workflow
