About the job:
Red Hat’s Edge Business Unit drives the product strategy for Red Hat In Vehicle Operating System (RHIVOS), and portfolio strategy for other Red Hat products for edge. The team is looking for a Senior Principal Product Marketing Manager to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, communicating and implementing the go-to-market plan and marketing collateral for Edge. You will lead messaging, positioning, product evangelism and thought leadership, expanding Red Hat’s presence with new customer buying centers and partner ecosystems. You will collaborate cross-functionally with the GTM portfolio and campaigns team, as well as corporate marketing, product marketing peers and product management to shape our overall go-to-market strategy and operating plan.
What you will do:
Craft compelling go-to-market messaging to best position our Edge Computing solutions, while building on product messaging that sets us apart from others in the market
Conduct market research, both quantitative and qualitative, to identify personas and validate customer user cases and customer language around our key go-to-market themes
Create effective marketing assets and content, including whitepapers, presentations, case studies, solution briefs, web content, data sheets and sales kits that can be used globally
Communicate the vision and value of our portfolio through customer-focused stories and use cases that amplify our Edge portfolio offerings
Define specific market sub-segments (identified personas, solutions, opportunities, etc.) within the market, and build content that supports the correct targeted business opportunity
Apply multiple products and services to customer-focused stories and use cases that amplify Red Hat’s breadth in the marketplace
Work with subject matter experts and create effective marketing assets and content, including presentations, solution briefs, web content, sales plays, etc.
Work with strategic partners where appropriate, aligning messaging and materials that can be leveraged by all relevant partners
What you will bring:
10 + years of product marketing or solutions marketing experience with strong ability to understand technologies and how to translate highly technical content into customer stories
10+ years of software industry experience, preferably within an area of edge computing, cloud native applications or cloud computing
Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related area
Deep knowledge of enterprise software market including key players, market trends, key industry analysts and technology direction
Solid knowledge of content creation that is aligned with the customer’s lifecycle
Outstanding written and oral communications skills with keen ability to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications
Strong and charismatic presenter; comfortable working with and presenting to all levels of an organization
Success in working in an influence-driven cross-functional environment
Ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment
Proactive self-starter with a challenger mindset, strong work ethic and penchant for action
Proven track record of success in a fast-moving technical environment, including proven ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
Experience at both a large company and start-up is preferred, with ability to “roll up your sleeves” and scale in a fast-growth environment
Strong attention to detail, results-driven and strong project management capabilities
