Our Product Architecture team owns the design strategy for Akamai's full E&AN product suite. We partner with engineering and product to ensure our strategy aligns with the needs of our customers. We are behind setting viewership records for some of the world's largest OTT events. We handle the world's most demanding financial institutions, e-commerce and enterprise sites.

Become Akamai's next Senior Product Architect

As a Senior Product Architect you will drive innovative solutions for our rapidly growing core compute products. You will help shape the next generation of our compute products. This includes VMs, Managed Containers and GPU offerings.

As a Senior Product Architect, you will be responsible for:

• Demonstrating architectural leadership and technical expertise by owning end-to-end product designs, including provisioning, billing, monitoring, scaling, etc.
• Supporting the full product life cycle - ideation, implementation, operation
• Working across stakeholders - Product Management, Engineering and Operations to satisfy their needs/requirements in the design process
• Socializing and building consensus around architectural decisions to provide stable and secure products
• Solving complex problems such as workload placement, fraud detection, security and isolation, cost efficiency, etc.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 12+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or Master's
• Have programming (e.g,. Perl, Python, JS) capabilities to help prototype new product ideas and concepts
• Be familiar with security concepts such as Zero Trust and secure/confidential computing (e.g., Intel SGX, AMD SEV-SNP, etc.)
• Have understanding of security technologies such as SPIFFE and Open Policy
• Have an understanding of compliance regimes such as PCI and FedRamp
• Have knowledge and experience with hypervisors such as KVM and QEMU
• Understand VM performance (SR-IOV, Network offload, etc.) and networking (e.g., cilium)
• Have familiarity with open source technologies and standards such as CNCF and Open Compute Project

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $149,122 - $238,744/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
