Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who loves product management, because it allows you to build meaningful experiences and technology that make peoples’ lives better, inspire a team to go beyond what they thought to be possible, and because you are a life-long learner who loves to create, measure, and improve.In this role, you will have ownership over our core products, giving you the potential to have an enormous impact on our product, customers, and company.You will be responsible for driving step-change improvements, as well as transformational impact to the product, in partnership with engineering and design. You must have an extremely entrepreneurial mindset as you will be developing and managing a new division and building new processes within Sunlighten.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Product Ideas, Development, and Success:

  • Understand and relentlessly champion Sunlighten values & vision to manage compelling product line and feature goals resulting in a superior customer experience that answer the questions “Why Sunlighten” and “Why This Product”
  • Ability to gain a deep understanding of the customer experience, identify and fill gaps, generate new ideas that grow market share, develop global strategy, improve the customer experience and drive growth with a focus on health and wellness
  • Collaborate with segment leadership to clearly identify and champion new products and features which define a differentiated and superior product, determine process for which ideas will move forward, define key requirements throughout the product line, and reject features and products that are overburdened or are not useful to the target customers
  • Evaluate and develop the business case for adding new products or product improvements to existing platforms and prioritize leveraging extensive market knowledge of each for consideration
  • Assist in defining product pricing models, determining optimal pricing for each product and target segment
  • Ensure success of new feature launches by forecasting release dates, training business teams, and equipping marketing team with supporting assets
  • Create, track, and maintain product KPI’s and business cases to achieve company goals and focus on solving the right problems
  • Create, distribute, and manage regular reports pertaining to the adoption and program success
  • Prepare and maintain monthly sales forecasts for assigned product category

Market Trends, Traction, and Competition:

  • Operate as trusted subject matter expert in the market and understand, in depth, the target market and user base and use this knowledge to guide product decisions
  • Maintain deep knowledge of direct competitor products and the market's perception of them to inform strategy and prioritization
  • Analyze competitive market trends and product category in order to develop and execute strategies to increase market share and profits
  • Maintain dashboards, draw insights from analytics, and actively add/tweak metrics to answer new questions to maintain a deep knowledge of user behavior
  • Own all feedback channels (feature requests, churn, NPs, etc.) and proactively gather feedback directly through targeted interviews, surveys, workshops, etc.
  • Understand the definition of your addressable market, and the market share of your product and competitors
  • Attend tradeshows/exhibits, plan seminars/webinars and visit with key customers to demonstrate and educate potential owners of the competitive benefits of Sunlighten products and systems

Collaboration:

  • Manage development priorities with a cross-functional team, bring appropriate market knowledge and recommendations into the discussion, and implement production schedules
  • Develop and present informative and comprehensive product presentations for internal sales training, for business proposals and customer/dealer webinars to ensure all have a clear understanding of the product vision
  • Inspire teams to do their best work by painting a compelling picture of where we are headed
  • Prioritize the backlog based on business value and serve as the point person for engineers and UX designers

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, or a related field or equivalent, relevant work experience
    • MBA a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in product marketing/management or business analysis- ideally in the B2B and DTC wellness space
  • 3-5+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies and Product Owner role


Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with business intelligence tools
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Able to comfortably and effectively present to large groups of stakeholders
  • Proven track record of success leading agile teams
  • Proven track record of success translating requirements into user stories effectively, creating "shared understanding" between product, engineering, design, and test team members
  • Proven track record of effective roadmap prioritization
  • Experience using frameworks to create and validate hypotheses based on market research
  • Basic knowledge of web & native mobile software
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Lean Startup methods and tools

$100-$125+K/year
