Job Description


Turner & Townsend
is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for delivery of large Capital Projects from Front End Development (Assess, Select & Define phases) through Execute Phase (Detailed Design, Procurement, and Construction) (Execute phase) including estimating, cost control, and schedule management in accordance with the PMF (Project Management Framework).


Responsibilities:


  • Accountable for a safe delivery of assigned projects within cost and schedule premises at Goal Zero.
  • Manages a matrix project team of Shell staff and Contractors
  • Oversees engineering execution utilizing a combination of on-site design staff, local and remote based engineering companies.
  • Responsible for coordination and management of Project Assurance activities.
  • Responsible for coordination and management of Technical Assurance activities in accordance with Discipline Control and Assurance Framework (DCAF)
  • Responsible for coordinating and working with Construction execution team on site during heavy execution periods
  • Responsible for working with contracts and procurement arm to identify appropriate contracting strategy for project design, vendor equipment procurement and construction execution


Dimensions of the role are:


  • The portfolio of projects you will be responsible for will include a combination of Asset Integrity/Maintain Margin/growth projects aimed at facility improvement and upgrades.
  • Manages a matrix project team of Shell staff and Contractors.
  • Oversees engineering execution utilizing either on-site design staff or off-site local or Remote Engineering companies.
  • Responsible for coordination and management of Project Assurance activities.
  • Responsible for coordination and management of Technical Assurance activities.
  • Manages a portfolio 2 to 8 simultaneous projects with competing priorities in various execution phases.
  • Portfolio value of $20-$30 million.
  • Average project headline size average between $2-5 million.
  • No more than two projects greater than $10 million.
  • Average annual spend between $10-$20 million per year.

Qualifications


  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Customer focus.
  • Leadership and coaching, with a Learner Mindset.
  • Engineering or related Technical Degree.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and projects.
  • Ability to work with remote based engineering and design teams often operating in different time zones.
  • In-depth understanding of the Opportunity Realization Standard/Project Management Framework/DCAF.
  • Proficient with SAP.
  • Experience with managing all phases of a project process.
  • 8+ years full time experience as a project engineer or project manager.
  • 12+ years varied experience in Refining and / or Petrochemical environment (e.g. projects, maintenance, turnarounds).
  • PMP certified or equivalent is a plus.
