Description

Milliman’s Seattle Health practice is looking for a Senior Recruiter to support our growing recruiting and talent engagement initiatives. The Senior Recruiter will be responsible for executing the end-to-end recruitment process, focusing primarily on identifying, attracting, and acquiring highly qualified professionals. This position is an integral partner in creating and implementing best in class recruiting practices. To be successful, the Senior Recruiter must work closely with the Talent & Engagement Team, hiring managers, internal and external candidates, possess exceptional communication skills, and enjoy the challenges of helping to build a cohesive organization of talented individuals.

About Our Practice

Milliman’s Seattle Health Practice serves a wide variety of organizations, including insurance companies, health plans, state and federal agencies, healthcare providers, reinsurance companies, providers, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and employers. The staff consists of 150+ actuarial professionals in addition to healthcare consultants, IT, Administrative, and other non-actuarial staff.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand actuarial as well as other talent needs and develop comprehensive recruitment strategies.
  • Conduct thorough job analysis to define position requirements, qualifications, and competencies for actuarial and other positions.
  • Utilize various recruitment channels to source and attract high-quality candidates.
  • Screen resumes, conduct initial phone screens, and perform in-depth interviews to assess candidates’ qualifications and cultural add.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate data in UKG and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Facilitate virtual and onsite interview loops, greeting candidates when in person.
  • Conduct reference checks, background screens, and initiate new hire onboarding processes.
  • Participate in other new hire onboarding tasks such as greeting new hires on their first day, confirming I-9 information, and providing benefits overview.
  • Promote Milliman’s employer brand through a robust LinkedIn presence.
  • Attend Recruiting and HR networking events.

To be successful in this role requires following qualifications:

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years as a recruiter, preferably in the actuarial, tech, insurance, or financial services industry.
  • Must have experience recruiting actuaries or other technical positions (Data Analysts, Software Engineers, etc.)
  • Proven track record of successfully sourcing and acquiring top talent through various recruitment channels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage candidates and build relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations related to recruitment and selection processes.
  • Experience handling sensitive/confidential information.

Location

This a hybrid position. Employees are expected to work in the Seattle, WA office 3 days per week and may work remotely for the remaining portion of the week.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $76,000-$95,000, depending on relevant factors, including, but not limited to, education, work experience, skills, certifications, location, etc.
