Raytheon Technologies Research Center, a Division of Raytheon Technologies Corporation, is looking for a Senior Research Engineer in Berkeley, CA. This is a hybrid position that requires working 2-3 days per week in the Berkeley, CA office. The individual in this position must live within a 40-mile radius of the office at 2855 Telegraph Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94705.

National travel is required up to 4 times per year.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop advanced tools and methods for the design and verification of complex software and robotic systems.
• Enhance autonomous capabilities of the product portfolio. Develop knowledge based and multi-agent intelligent systems.
• Develop efficient and embeddable reasoning and decision-making algorithms for autonomous systems.
• Lead the use of technologies for the next generation aircrafts, service and field robotics.
• Author technical papers and reports including publications in top journals, conferences, and invention disclosures and patent applications.
• Author technical proposals for emerging technologies to procure internal and external/government funding.
• Act as principal investigator, focused on creative, integrated solutions for business and technical challenges.

Required Qualifications:

• At least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
• At least 2 years of prior work experience in Robotics and Autonomy research
• At least 2 years of experience with sequential decision-making algorithms
• At least 2 years of experience implementing algorithms in the Robotic Operating System (ROS)
• at least 2 years of experience using motion planning frameworks and simulators for robotic applications
• At least 2 years of experience with computer vision algorithms
• At least 1 year of systems engineering experience for robotic systems
• At least 1 year of experience programming in at least 2 programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, MATLAB

The salary range for this position is $134,118 to $161,000. The salary range listed below ($75,000-$161,000) is generated automatically and reflects a salary range for all roles within this salary grade.

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
