The Senior Scientist I-Analytical Chemistry is responsible for supporting the characterization and definition of procedures for the analysis of oligonucleotides, PCR reagents and small molecules and additives. You will establish a collaborative environment that values equity of voice, inclusive behaviors and trusting teams.

This position is part of the Biochip R&D Team and will be located in Sunnyvale. In this role you will have the opportunity to:

• Prepare reagents, buffers and oligonucleotide solutions following existing protocols.
• Perform analytical characterization of reagents and buffers using state-of-the-art techniques and procedures.
• Provide analytical support across multi-functional teams for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and improving processes.

• Collect, document, summarize and communicate data/trends on a regular basis.
• Be able to learn quickly how to operate analytical instruments, be focused and detail oriented.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Doctoral degree in Chemistry, or related field.

• 5+ years of industrial experience.

• Proficiency and accuracy in using pipettes and handling small volume preparations.
• Experience with using analytical techniques such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, LC-MS, HPLC, qPCR, pH measurements, etc.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, written and electronic documentation, meticulous attention to detail.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience with characterization of PCR and DNA microarray performance.
• Experience with use of liquid handlers.
• Experience with working in regulated environments.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $137,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
