Senior Software Engineer (Python/ React)

Alpha is a new healthcare services company developing a technology platform designed to enable easy, personalized access to online diagnosis and prescription treatment for some of the most common illnesses today. We’re backed by investment from Data Collective Venture Capital, a premier AI-focused venture capital firm, along with many top angels. Alpha has also partnered with the design firm IDEO, and we’re assembling a team of some of the most talented engineers, physicians, and designers in the world.

About the role:

Alpha Medical is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for delivering high quality software applications that improve the way people access healthcare today.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a highly collaborative team, working with other Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, Product Managers and others within a Scrum environment. Every day you will have an opportunity to enhance Alpha’s active telemedicine platform available in 49 states. This platform includes the marketing website, the Patient Dashboard which patients use to interact with the Alpha Care Team, and the Clinician Dashboard that the Alpha Care Team uses to view, manage and communicate with our patients.

Key areas of ownership that you will drive forward for the organization personally, and collaborating cross-functionally:

Work with our Software Engineering teams and participate in our Scrum process, currently in 2 week sprints
Develop high-quality software utilizing our whole technology stack, currently consisting of React, Typescript, React Native, Python using the Flask framework and PostgreSQL
Utilize HTML and CSS to style our web components
Partner with Product and Design team members taking UI mockups and implementing intuitive user interfaces
Review other engineer's pull requests
Propose and help implement improvements in our software development process
Designing and implementing software solutions and repeatable software patterns
Collaborate on creating technical specs, documentation, and validation plans

You should bring experience in these areas to add to our team:

ADA compliance and web performance optimization
Experience with managing infrastructure in AWS
Desire to work in Healthcare/Telemedicine Working with a CI/CD mindset and experience moving to more frequent releases
Experience working with React Native to build mobile applications
A sense of curiosity with a desire to learn as well as share your knowledge
Comfort working in a dynamic, collaborative, startup environment on a path of growth
