Senior Software Engineer

Looking Glass Factory ships our unique holographic displays and custom 3D software to customers worldwide. Software plays a critical role in our product technology. We our building the next generation of our software platform but we need someone to take ownership of critical components in this process. This is a great opportunity for highly motivated candidates who want to sharpen their engineering skills.

At Looking Glass Factory, you'll be working with a small, passionate team of engineers designing cutting edge software and a new interface for experiencing 3D media. This is fast-paced, groundbreaking work, with plenty of experimentation and prototyping combined with sustained development of our core product line.

Given that we are iterating on products using custom hardware, we strongly prefer candidates local to New York City. A fully remote position may be an option for highly qualified candidates.

In this role, you will be:

• Creating technical designs from product requirements for new features and capabilities
• Leading software development for our drivers, libraries, and applications
• Writing test cases and automations for software and hardware validation
• Creating prototypes for artists, designers, developers, and scientists

Requirements

• Strong command of software engineering fundamentals
• 3-5 years of professional software development experience using C#, Java, Rust, Python or Javascript
• 2+ years of experience writing C or C++
• Professional experience writing algorithms for image or video processing

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with computer vision algorithms
• Experience working with OpenGL, Metal, DirectX, or Vulkan
• Experience working with AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, etc)
• Experience developing APIs for web services
• Experience writing cross-platform code in C or C++ (for MacOS, Linux, Windows)
