Senior Software Engineer, Core Database

The Role

We are looking for a talented, passionate, and inquisitive engineer. As a member of the SQL/SPARQL Team within the Database Group, you are responsible for the technical design, implementation and maintenance of the SQL and SPARQL implementations, relational query engine, query optimization, and indexes that support efficient query execution. You collaborate closely with product management, quality assurance, and technical documentation to make sure features are delivered on time with high standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Strong C++ coding skills (Java is a plus)
• 5+ years development experience in distributed and multi-threaded systems
• Working knowledge of all aspects of software development lifecycle
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in related field(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relational query engines (SQL, SPARQL) and/or query optimizer implementation
• Performance analysis and optimization, especially in a relational query context
• Database engine implementation - including indexes and compression
• ODBC driver implementation
• Search engine implementation
• Language processing
• JSON, XML, and related technologies
• Work experience with AWS and Azure
