The Opportunity

Do you enjoy tackling problems such as scaling from a single node database to a distributed data store, and designing, prototyping and collaborating to create systems for handling machine learning? Impira’s real-time and interactive machine learning comes with unique engineering challenges.

We are hiring a senior engineer who is curious to lead, and to scale our existing systems as well as architect and implement new ones. We have a small, collaborative team of 15 engineers, working together to build the system, ML and UI of the application and we’re looking for a bold, curious engineer to join us!

Roles + Responsibilities

• Design solutions to address hard storage, indexing, and querying problems

• Apply systems engineering fundamentals to optimize efficiency and increase processing throughput

• Partnering with our machine learning team to design infrastructure which performantly trains and evaluates models

• Manage technically difficult projects against clear milestones

• Increasing efficiency by identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks

• Upholding a high standard of code quality through code reviews and extensive testing

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of industry experience in a systems infrastructure or software engineering role

• Professional experience with distributed, compiler, database, operating, and/or cloud systems

• Professional experience with C++ or Golang

• Interest in a wide variety of technical projects, ranging from developing ML infrastructure to scaling our analytics engine

• Experience shipping infrastructure software in a production environment

• Experience working with AWS or GCP is a plus

• Attention to detail and care for writing high-quality, clean, and scalable code

• Bachelor's/Master’s/Graduate degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
