Work with production to manage and build upon existing Quality, HACCP, and allergen programs in the plant to assure regulatory compliance of facility, equipment, and plant practices

Drive continuous improvement in all plant Quality systems, food safety and sanitation

Lead or be a member of the Food Safety and Food Defense teams to ensure food safety and quality are identified and maintained

Manage the hold/release system for finished goods and raw materials (Sharepoint, Oracle & Plant DDS Hold Log)

Maintains records of finished goods testing results, procedures, and monitoring activities (QA Logs)
-
Is involved with the review and updating of the plants Food Safety Plan including, but not limited to Allergen Control Program, Pest Control Program, Environmental Program, Specifications, and Plant Self Audits

Reviews and audits Supply Base Quality System (TraceGains). Filing / follow up on supplier SCARS
-
Owns Food Safety (HACCP/Preventive Controls), and Food Quality (HACQP) systems and Proficy items related to Process Quality
-
Lead activities necessary for the cleaning and sanitizing of the entire plant
Provide coaching to plant operations on food safety, quality systems and day-to-day quality issues
-
Understands all quality tests performed by operators and how to analyze data

Train all full-time employees in Food Safety Plans, Allergen Control Program, Gluten Free Program, Food Defense, Sanitation, Statistical Process Control, Quality, and GMP’s

Review SSOP’s and maintain Master Sanitation Schedule compliance
Assist QA Manager in providing assistance and recommendations for Food Safety, Quality and Sanitation processes and improvements

Drive out defects in the process through collaboration with the production teams and leadership to prevent and correct food safety and quality issues

Provides support to ensure development and maintenance of our 19 Key Element System
-
Grow partnerships with chemical supply vendors and manage chemical supply inventory
-
Develop and maintain Quality documentation for the plant
Maintain audit readiness for Corporate, GMP, Government agencies, SQMS, BRC, or other third-party audits

Verify and validate cleaning effectiveness through sanitation audits and environmental data review.

Facilitate preventative and corrective actions as needed

Assisting in all internal and external quality and regulatory audits to ensure plant compliance

Recall and Traceability team member
-
Supports SQMS and is a Key Element Owner or recall and traceability member

Bachelor’s degree required, Technical, Food Science, Microbiology, Bacteriology degree preferred

Minimum two years operations, food science or QC experience required
-
Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred
-
Prior audit experience is preferred
-
Strong chemistry, mathematics, and/or statistical background is preferred
-
Experience directing and managing vendors is preferred
-
Experience with microbial contamination, chemical safety, GMP’s, sanitation, HACCP, Quality Systems, and allergens
-
Strong computer skills – word, excel, power point, etc.

Effective communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills
-
Organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
-
Data analysis and technical skills
-
Comfortable working proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment that is subject to working evenings, holidays, and on-call status

Ability to coach, teach and lead others

Analytical Equipment experience/troubleshooting Well organized and detail oriented
-
Ability to maintain current knowledge of changes and developments in quality assurance, sanitation, food science and sensory areas
-
Highly adaptable and flexible to a dynamic environment

Salary range = $72K - $105K
