General Summary:

Unum Group seeks Senior Test Engineers in Atlanta, GA.

The Senior Test Engineer develops and executes software test strategies to identify software problems and their causes and ensure that new and amended software, software configurations, software packages, or software services, together with any system interfaces, perform as specified and that risks associated with software deployment are adequately understood and documented. Specific core duties and responsibilities include developing and executing formal plans, procedures and scenarios for testing to ensure quality of software applications, including the process of engineering, using and maintaining testware (test cases, test scripts, test reports, test plans, etc.) to measure and improve the quality of the software; planning tests, writing test cases/scripts, automating test cases and executing tests; working closely with Business Analysts to create and implement software user acceptance criteria; designing test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures, including test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services; designing and evaluating test plans for regression testing for new releases and any Unum specific configurations or customization; working in close collaboration with Senior Software Engineers, Principle Software Engineers, Software Engineers, and System Architects to design, implement and evaluate software test automation through all phases of testing, including unit, system, integration and regression testing; documenting, analyzing and reporting test procedures and results to ensure replicability and compliance with standards, including by use of industry best practices; developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test coverage, and test execution reports to support software quality assurance; collaborating with Senior Software Engineers, Principle Software Engineers, Software Engineers, and System Architects to ensure that software features and solutions meet or exceed user needs; and creating and maintaining appropriate test artifacts for the team, including Test Plans and Sprint Plans. The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of existing and new software features through automated testing and use of continuous integration techniques. ***The location of the employment is the Unum Atlanta Tech Hub with the option to telecommute from home 2 days per week.***

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of test automation experience as a Test Engineer, Test Analyst, or a related professional occupation. This position requires the following proficiencies/skills: C#, Java or C++; SQL; Test Driven Development (TDD); and Agile Development Methodologies.

The wage range for this position supersedes the base salary range listed below, due to the salary range below reflecting a national range.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
