POSITION DESCRIPTION

Hired's Career Pathways team develops and delivers short-term career skills training programs designed to help people find employment quickly in a career that provides family sustaining wages. Training is done virtually and in-person.

The Sr Trainer will have curriculum development and delivery as central responsibilities but will play a key role in all programming activities, including recruiting events and individual coaching between training completion and employment. This role works closely with employer partners to inform learning goals and training activities. Strong MS Office skills and the ability to teach those skills to adults using virtual and in-person tools. Experience developing and adapting curriculum is also important, but we will train a great candidate.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of theory and practice of adult training/education and the application of those principles in service to people from oppressed & excluded communities, teaching certification and/or licensure preferred. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering training in both virtual and in-person settings using methods that are culturally responsive and adaptive to different learning styles/modalities.

The Sr Trainer in this position at the North Loop office will work with Hired’s Medical Manufacturing training project. This position requires the ability to travel around Hennepin County, often to locations not easily accessed by public transportation. A valid driver’s license, vehicle and insurance is required before hire.

POSTION REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated understanding of theory and practice of adult training/education and the application of those principles in service to people from oppressed & excluded communities; teaching certification and/or licensure preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering training in both virtual and in-person settings using methods that are culturally responsive and adaptive to different learning styles/modalities.
  • Skill in written and oral communication
  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Skill in teaching/coaching techniques
  • Efficient organizational and planning skills
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize work
  • Ability and willingness to respond constructively to rapid change
  • Ability to lead by example and to mentor and guide others
  • Computer proficiency (including Word, Excel, Outlook and databases)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Outreach & Recruitment - Recruit class participants from appropriate sources for class sessions
  • Program and Curriculum Development -Responsible for researching and developing new curricula to meet program goals.
  • Assessment - Conduct appropriate classroom assessments needed for programming
  • Delivery of Training - Adapt curriculum and/or daily lesson plans to meet the needs of program participants and delivering materials in a meaningful way
  • Manage Classroom Environment - Maintain a safe, positive, rigorous classroom learning environment
  • Data Management/Reporting - Utilize required databases to enter and track participants through the program
