SENIOR TRAVEL ASSISTANT, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF), to audit travel expenses and authorize payment to ensure that all expenses are within MIT policies and guidelines, conduct training sessions with the MIT community, and modify and set up profiles in travel system with minimal supervision. Will be expected to develop comprehensive and in-depth knowledge and understanding of department goals, policies, procedures, and the broader MIT organization and mission.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years of accounting experience; strong presentation and written communication skills; customer service experience and the ability to foster and maintain excellent working relationships with a wide variety of clients and stakeholders; willingness and ability to learn new software programs; meticulous attention to detail; discretion, tact, and good judgment with confidential information and in matters affecting VPF Travel and Card Services. Must be able to communicate complex processes clearly and effectively, meet deadlines in a metrics-driven environment, function autonomously, and recognize and anticipate department needs. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree; knowledge of Concur, AppZen, SAP, Microsoft Office, Brio, and FileMaker; MIT experience; and experience with public speaking or making presentations. Job #22799-6
