Position Summary: This position is a strategic leader who will be responsible for one of the most important segments of our business: Worker’s Compensation and Employer Services. This Executive will provide crucial thought leadership and direction for both operations and product development in the Workers’ Compensation and Employer Services arenas. This role will own the full value chain of worker’s compensation and employer services partnerships from the vision and strategy, budgeting, team leadership, integration, and delivery of a consistent product across all Athletico operations. Key duties will encompass the following categories:
Ownership of the full Worker’s Compensation and Direct-to-Employer portfolio:

Strategic leadership to enable Athletico to partner with a wide variety of employers with a broad variety of needs from occasional ergonomic training to On-Site, Full-time staff providing services;

Determine what products and services should be offered to employers by Athletico across the health care spectrum;

Partner with Clinical Operations to ensure optimal engagement with Employers including near-site and on-site solutions.
Outcomes-based Clinical Excellence

Customer and intra-company leadership to drive Operational execution of medically driven outcomes-based activities;
- Optimization of product and service offering in partnership with SVP and Chief Medical Officer, Employer Services
-
Development of KPIs and other performance measures for Work Comp and Employer Services
-
Responsibility for implementation and usage of Utilization Management tool.
Worker’s Compensation and Employer Business Development and Account Management:

Subject matter expert for Work Comp and Employer Services;

Direct activities for Worker’s Compensation Sales leader;

Oversee the regional Worker’s Compensation Coordinator team;

Responsibility for the Work4U call center organization.
This position will develop and implement Athletico’s Worker’s Compensation Rehab Services model. This service delivery model will maximize clinician productivity in a variety of settings (e.g. from in-clinic to On-site at the Employer and all combinations therein) and patient access without compromising clinical quality or client service. Clinical operations duties will include ensuring proper allocation of skilled staff to meet the needs of Athletico workers’ compensation patients and employer clients and formulation of strategies to serve worker’s compensation patients in new markets. This role will also coordinate with the SVPs of Clinical Operations and worker’s compensation personnel to ensure that there is no disruption in worker’s compensation services as operational changes are being implemented.
This is a highly strategic role that will develop worker’s compensation and employer services products that maximize value to both Athletico and employer clients. In this capacity, duties will include assessing and forecasting market demand, product development, development of proposal materials including Board-level materials and client-facing interactions including direct customer visits and appearances at industry events.
This position will direct the development and delivery of worker’s compensation operational performance measures and training of a wide variety of clinical personnel in best practices. In addition to leading worker’s compensation training seminars, this work will include the development and oversight of a worker’s comp dashboard, collaboration with finance and operations around acute worker’s compensation metric improvements, outcomes related to near site and On-site services, and collaboration with payor contracting on network relations and performance metrics.
This role will be responsible for transforming the operations of the Work4U call center, with the goal of creating a call center solution that interfaces seamlessly with both the field and with external clients in Worker’s compensation, Employer Services, and Home Health. This responsibility will include assessment of the technological tools necessary for the call center to fulfill its responsibilities.

Establish and execute the company’s strategy pertaining to Worker’s Compensation and Employer services and products including all forms of and settings for the provision of health care ranging from musculoskeletal therapy or training to advanced medical practitioners performing work in an Athletico clinic setting, On-site in an Employer location or other hybrid delivery models;

Partner with the SVP and Chief Medical Officer, Employer Services to ensure a portfolio of offerings that provide reliable outcomes for patients and employers in a medically-sound manner;

Collaborate with the SVPs of Clinical Operations and VPCOs to ensure efficient, high-quality staffing for Worker’s compensation services for both existing and new markets;

Excellent interpersonal and customer management skills: This leader will also be expected to be a senior point of contact for relationships with Athletico’s largest Workers’ Compensation clients;

Lead company training events for WC and Employer Services clinical personnel

Use analytics to recommend actions and guide relationship building strategy for WC referral sources, to include tracking and reporting on activity, KPI creation and monitoring, and maintaining referral source data
- Coordinate with senior executives and field program managers to implement best-in-class treatment standards and value-based performance metrics to track the same;

Develop training materials and “train the trainer” modules to improve field performance to influence better health outcomes;

Direct the work of, and work closely with, sales and marketing reps to develop materials for use in the promotion of differentiated acute worker’s compensation therapy and a comprehensive employer services sales line;

Collaborate with Athletico field leaders to hire, mentor and evaluate Workers’ Comp Market Development Managers including identifying where developmental opportunities exist;

Develop presentations and represent the Company in industry conferences and events

Track performance and help coach the field on risk-based and gain-sharing contracts developed by the organization;

Collaborate with IT staff and associated project teams to maintain, improve and monitor worker’s compensation next gen templates;

Engage with the SVP of Payor Relations on new contractual structures that adequately compensate Athletico for the value generated from Workers’ Compensation and Preventive services;

Act as subject matter expert in relation to the transformation of the Work4U call center, representing the voice of the customer and the operational requirements necessary to meet customer expectations

A Bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred

Work Experience:

At least ten (10) years of leadership experience in health care, business transactions, contracts, health benefits and/or policy

Demonstrated success leading a distributed Operational execution team is required. The scope of the operational experience should include demonstrated success leading a multi-state team of health care delivery professionals;

Clinical experience, especially in the field of workers’ compensation rehabilitation is strongly preferred

Deep subject matter expertise in the areas of workers’ compensation and employer services, including clinical best practices and the roles of various stakeholders in workers’ compensation claims
