The Third Floor is looking for an experienced Senior Virtual Production Artist. This will be a Full-Time, Hybrid Role in on-set and remote virtual production support. The on-set support responsibilities include delivering and overseeing complex technical shoots including technical previs, techvis, virtual camera and other on-set support to clients and other film units. When not on set, the Senior VP Artist will generate techvis and prepare content for virtual production shoots according to TTF technical specifications.
Responsibilities
Attend and support on-set or remote studio sessions with clients, including Motion Capture and Virtual Camera shoots, including operation of Virtual Camera
Support the Visualization teams with exporting Art Content (Environments, Props, Animations) from Maya into Unreal Engine
Work in collaboration with our Asset Builders to produce Real-Time ready models
Lighting and Shading levels in Unreal Engine
Work with the art team to ensure in-engine levels are Real-time ready
Drive the planning and customization of production tools
Document, prototype, and improve the art pipeline
Collaborate with creating workflows and tools to accelerate production
Create and debug shader and materials graphs throughout production
Supply rigged characters and character export tools to other vendors
Provide the art team with guidelines for art content creation for Unreal Engine
Communicating with other virtual production equipment vendors
Essential Skills
Excellent knowledge of the Unreal Engine asset and animation pipelines
Experience with scene optimization in Unreal for XR and LED production
Experience with Virtual Camera sessions
Experience with Version Control (Git, Perforce, SCM)
Experience with or knowledge of on-set etiquette
Familiar with live action equipment and workflow
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with Unreal Python API
Experience with character rigging and retargeting for Unreal Engine
Experience with Autodesk Maya 2019 or later
Experience with tracking solutions, such as PFTrack or 3DEqualizer
Experience writing tools and UI panels (using Editor Utility Widgets) for Unreal Engine
Familiarity with Scanning solutions, photogrammetry, and/or LiDAR
Familiarity with PBR material workflows and best practices
Personal Attributes

Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced, client facing or on-set environment
In-depth understanding of the production workflow and ability to follow process steps
Proven ability to prioritize conflicting tasks to meet production needs
