Senior/Staff Software Applications Engineer

The role

Imagination is an industry leader in designing power-efficient and high-performance GPUs for graphics and compute. You will be joining world class team of Application Engineers and after a period of training with a senior mentor, will take ownership of helping our customers to integrate and achieve success with our GPU cores.

Your role will have high visibility within the organisation and opportunity for close engagement with our key customers.

You will:

• Fully support our high-profile customers through their product life cycle – Engage with them from an early stage of IP selection to final mass production.
• Work closely with customers in solving their issues, including performing deep dive analyses into reported issues at both application and driver level.
• Become an expert in Imaginations Driver products and run trainings for customers and other stakeholders.
• Partner with internal teams such as Driver Development, QA, and Product Management to ensure our products meet customer’s needs and remain the best in the industry.
• Prepare technical notes and slide decks for customer training.

You'll have:

• Experience in independently handling customer accounts and helping to manage day to day activities within the team.
• Experience of software development with at least some level of customer interactions, or previous Application Engineering / Software Support experience.
• Experience of programming languages such as C/C++
• Sound understanding of Linux Kernel & User Mode debugging.
• Experience in either graphics or Compute APIs
• At least one of OpenGL/OpenGL ES/ DirectX /Vulkan/OpenCL

You might also have:

• Any experience on any AI/ML framework is added advantage.
• Exposure to developing Graphics/Display drivers for Android/Linux/Windows operating systems.
• Experience of optimization and profiling for software Graphics/Compute applications.
• Relevant to Graphics - Experience working and debugging on Integrity, QNX, VxWorks or any RTOS.
• Relevant to Graphics - Knowledge of hypervisors (e.g., Xen, Jailhouse or similar Hypervisors)
• Experience interacting with opensource community and upstreaming.
• Automotive industry exposure and knowledge of ISO 26262, ASIL, MISRA-C coding standards.
• Experience interacting with open-source community and upstreaming.
• Occasional willingness to travel working onsite to support or train our customers around the world.
