Sensory Evaluator

Sensory Evaluator – Dayton, NJ – 1st and 2nd Shift Available

It’s an exciting time to be part of IFF’s Flavor Quality Control team. In this position, you will provide operations with proper sensory evaluation of both raw and finished products working independently and on a team with other Sensory Evaluators.

You will spend your time…

• Evaluating product according to specified taste methods and determining acceptability
• Managing, preparing, and administering one or more structured customer specific sensory programs. Communicating results and working together with Creative team
• Operating, maintaining, organizing, and continually developing sensory programs and data through Compusense software
• Recommending continual development opportunities for current processes and subsequently leading research efforts in support of the Quality and Creative groups
• Maintaining retain and Gold Standard libraries
• Sensory Evaluation of certain raw materials
• Performing Analytical testing as needed
• Customer communication for Shelf Life and Re-certifications

Required Skills:

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field
• 2-3 years previous experience in the food industry
• Technical degree and/or experience is a sufficient replacement for educational degree
• Knowledge and previous experience with Sensory Science
• Knowledge of basic math and science
• Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office

Preferred:

• 3-5 years previous experience in the food industry
• 1-3 years previous experience in sensory evaluation position
• Knowledge and previous experience with Compusense, SAP

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Food industry: 1 year (Preferred)
• Sensory Evaluation: 1 year (Preferred)
