Job Summary

Hawke Media’s SEO team might be one of our smallest teams but looking at their output, you’d think they were a 20-person squad. The ideal candidate will have experience performing technical SEO audits in effort to improve site health to boost the organic performance, monitoring and reporting performance of site rankings, crawl statistics and errors and compiling and presenting SEO guidelines to clients and internal team.Once you’re fully ramped up, you should expect to be working on anywhere from 10-12 clients at any given time so if you wouldn’t describe yourself as someone with impeccable multitasking skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducting detailed competitor analysis to identify gaps in content coverage and areas of opportunity
  • Identifying targeted keywords to drive the most valuable traffic
  • Developing comprehensive SEO strategies to achieve client’s goals and objectives
  • Implementing on-page optimizations which align with SEO best practices and keyword strategy
  • Keeping updated on white hat SEO strategies to stay within search engine guidelines and understand black hat SEO strategies to avoid
  • Regularly reviewing traffic and conversion data in order to gain insight into keyword and landing page performance
  • Working on special SEO projects as assigned
  • Being responsive and maintaining good communication with clients as well as colleagues via emails, video chats, and other communication channels
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Understanding of digital marketing in general
  • Understanding of SEO and how it fits in the overall marketing framework
  • Previous experience in content marketing, technical SEO, and local SEO
  • Proven track record of successful project management and multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge and experience using analytical and SEO tools (SEMrush, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, etc.)
  • Experience with Wordpress, BigCommerce, Shopify, other CMS’s and basic HTML
  • Working knowledge of best practices for search engine optimization
  • Prior experience in creating and implementing Structured Data Markups
  • Understanding of online design constraints, including mobile space, web usability, SEO, browser behavior, front-end design limitations, cross-platform compatibility
  • Eagerness to learn new skills to excel the SEO skills and digital marketing in general
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically, and identify and resolve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
  • Comfortable using and learning new skills and technologies
