About the Role

Seqera is seeking a Sales Development Manager to rapidly scale our pipeline and revenue.  You will work closely with our sales and marketing leaders to devise pipeline generation strategies and lead a team of SDRs to execute on tactics.

This will be a fast-paced, multifaceted role, with plenty of opportunity for growth within our commercial organization.  This role is for those who are eager to take the next step in their sales career, learn from and influence a rapidly growing startup, and make a meaningful impact on the scientific community.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to achieve and exceed targets

  • Develop and implement plans, in partnership with sales and marketing, to generate and qualify leads, drive pipeline growth and support revenue goals

  • Train, coach and mentor SDRs to ensure they have necessary skills and knowledge

  • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to evaluate team and individual performance, identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to optimize lead generation process, improve lead quality, and maximize conversion rates

  • Consistently use CRM and Gong to track and manage prospect interactions, manage pipelines and generate reports for senior management

  • Engage our target users via a combination of outreach tactics, including email, cold call, LinkedIn messaging, event attendance, and more.

  • Support and attend in-person field events, including conferences, networking socials, and more.

  • Develop customized messaging and tactics for specific target accounts and personas, where needed

  • Administrate and manage select tooling for the Sales Development org, including but not limited to Gong, LeadIQ, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator etc.

About You

  • Located along the US East Coast, ideally near Boston, MA or New York City.

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific domain, with industry experience in life sciences

  • At least 3 years experience in Sales Development, Business Development, or Inside Sales at a SaaS company

  • Have successfully designed and implemented SDR tactics and sequences to generate and nurture leads

  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to craft compelling messages tailored to different stages of the buying journey

  • Proficiency in CRM and other relevant technologies

  • Strong analytical skills to review sales data, performance metrics and pipeline trends, and ultimately extract insights and make recommendations

  • Ability to pivot and adjust priorities as we rapidly scale our business

Nice to have

  • Expertise in Excel or Google Sheets

  • Experience in a leadership role preferred

  • Experience in territory building and planning

  • Strong presentation skills (for internal reviews)
