Service Desk Technician

Job Description
The Service Desk Technician is responsible for the smooth operation of all desktop computers and related equipment in the day-to-day operation of Belkin’s business data communications systems. The Service Desk Technician works with internal customers on a face-to-face basis, ensuring their business data communication requirements are efficiently supported and satisfied.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provide level 1 support for a large population of Windows and Macintosh computers in a network and desktop troubleshooting capacity.
  • Logs all customer problem calls, Instant messages and e-mails, documents desk-side support, and updates status information into the Help Desk ticketing software.
  • Use imaging and deployment tools to ensure workstations and applications are deployed in a standardized manner.
  • Assist in Conference Room A/V setup and Meeting support.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves routine application and desktop operating system problems within established procedures and priority time frames.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • 0 - 3 years of technical experience in a high paced IT help desk environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • BS or BA degree in computer science, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified as a Microsoft MCP and as a CompTIA A+ Service Technician, or able to complete certification within one year.
  • CompTIA Network+ and/or Microsoft MCSE certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Macintosh workstations, and related graphic design applications.
