The Service Engineer will receive sufficient training to help support success in this opportunity. The Service Engineer I position is located out of Los Angeles, CA with the AVL Test Systems, Inc. company. The Service Engineer I will be responsible for installation, set-up, configuration, maintenance, and calibration troubleshooting repairs for AVL hardware and software. The Service Engineer I will interface with a variety of customers and will be required to travel 50 to 75% (majority of this travel will be domestic in California.)
Applicants must have the unrestricted authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
Roles:
* Act as Liaison and company representative for customers
* Perform at customer sites; test equipment installation, configuration, maintenance, and calibration to AVL specifications as defined through the AVL Qualification Initiative (QI).
* Troubleshoot and repair products to AVL specifications following defined processes.
* Professional and timely completion of service and commissioning reports and other administrative responsibilities as required.
* Actively participate in developing one’s own training plan and exhibits ownership in completing training towards realization of selected diplomas and competency.
* Provide feedback and improvement suggestions on troubleshooting guides and continuous improvement methods to increase operating equipment effectiveness (O.E.E.).
* Generates calibration certificates, service reports and is responsible for evaluation and presentation of results
* Perform Hotline support as required including the use of reporting tools, Helpdesk II etc.
* The ability to communicate with customers in a professional way and in the ability to independently describe, categorize, analyze, and solve service requests and issues.
* Timely follow up on items and the ability to drive issues to closure.
* Complete all applicable safety training
* Must be willing to travel
* Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
* 0-2+ years’ experience in related field
* 2 years’ experience with test automation equipment preferred
* Understanding of electrical and mechanical processes
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
This position will minimally provide an annual compensation of $84,500.
