Job Description

Team

The App Engine Outbound Product Management team is responsible for all outbound GTM and commercial aspects of ServiceNow App Engine, our industry leading low-code app dev offering. Our Outbound Product Managers interact with our existing and prospective customers to guide them on product journeys, bring their voices back to our product roadmap, help drive product strategy, guide product messaging and positioning, enable sales with technical content and enablement, and help craft product packaging and pricing. We collaborate closely with multiple cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, sales, solution consulting, pricing strategy and operations, customer outcomes, product success, training and certification etc.).

Role Overview

As a Director-level team leader, you will provide strategic leadership for the App Engine GTM Outbound Product Management function, driving business decisions with mid- to long-term impact. You will be responsible for developing and implementing work group strategies, policies, and plans that position ServiceNow's App Engine and Generative AI solutions for sustainable growth and market dominance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership and Business Development:
    • Develop and drive comprehensive business plans for App Engine and Now Assist for Creator
    • Identify and pursue business opportunities that ensure sustainable growth and market dominance
    • Make high-impact strategic decisions affecting multiple organizational stakeholders
    • Define and execute innovative product launch strategies across product, operations, pricing, marketing, and other go-to-market teams
  • Team and Organizational Capability Building:
    • Lead and develop a high-performance outbound product management team
    • Create and implement capability development plans to close skill gaps
    • Drive cross-functional integration and alignment of objectives
    • Continuously improve team performance through strategic interventions and coaching
    • Ensure team understands their contribution to overall company strategy
  • Product and Market Strategy Execution:
    • Develop deep market insights to influence long-term monetization roadmap
    • Create comprehensive customer/partner/presales enablement strategies for App Engine solutions
    • Promote ServiceNow's vision with industry influencers, strategic partners, and analyst firms
    • Maintain advanced awareness of external market dynamics and competitive landscape
  • Resource and Performance Management:
    • Strategically allocate resources for product management function
    • Develop, manage, and be accountable for work group budget
    • Design and implement performance metrics and tracking mechanisms
    • Optimize resource allocation to support business objectives
    • Balance strategic planning with operational execution
  • Customer and Partner Engagement:
    • Build and manage relationships with internal and external customers
    • Drive customer and partner enablement for App Engine and Now Assist for Creator
    • Create high-quality technical enablement content
    • Develop best practices assets and conduct product onboarding sessions
    • Translate customer insights into product strategy and roadmap improvements
  • Go-to-Market and Commercial Strategy:
    • Lead pricing and packaging efforts in coordination with business unit and corporate pricing teams
    • Optimize market adoption of new products
    • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, solution consulting, and technical alliance teams
    • Develop comprehensive commercial strategies that support product innovation
    • Guide product messaging and positioning to maximize market impact

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise software or SaaS product management, with a proven track record of:
    • Building and scaling business functions
    • Driving strategic initiatives with measurable business outcomes
    • Developing comprehensive business strategies that deliver sustainable growth
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities demonstrated through:
    • Ability to build and transform organizational capabilities
    • Strong cross-functional leadership with proven ability to influence extended and virtual teams
    • Deep understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes
  • Advanced communication and strategic engagement skills, including:
    • Exceptional ability to articulate complex business plans and individual/team contributions
    • Masterful networking and influencing skills across all organizational levels
    • Proven track record of engaging with customers, partners, and industry influencers
  • Strategic thinking and execution capabilities characterized by:

  • Professional credentials:
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Technology, Engineering)

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $207,300 - $362,700, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
