The Services Research Manager is focused on identifying and validating new agronomic offerings and enabling technologies. Their primary responsibilities include validating new risk mitigation offers for commercialization through our retail network. Their secondary responsibility is identifying finance and digital opportunities that enable services growth. This individual will work closely with product development, services marketing and adoption teams, data, and IT teams.
Location: This role is remote (virtual) and can work from anywhere in the United States.
Risk Mitigation Portfolio - 67%
Direct the process for testing warranty trial concepts to address gaps and generate data for services and connections opportunities while appropriately managing risk and delivering on business objectives.
Works with product development teams and marketing to ensure key products have a fit within the offers.
Create and utilize a stage gate process to take products from concept to launch.
Finance and Digital Connectivity - 33%
Partners with the sales and marketing teams to identify new financing offers that drive incremental services revenue while delivering value to the grower.
Works with IT to identify enabling digital technologies that reduce risk and promotes adoption.
Job Scope:
Responsible for the following Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):
Support the delivery of incremental gross profit
Manage risk and lower claims
Introduce new agronomic warranty offers
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in agriculture or business-related field
5-10 years’ experience in financial, risk mitigation or insurance markets with specific knowledge of the US agricultural landscape.
Knowledge of the retailer systems (ERP, FMIS, Portals) landscape and where data lives and flows through those tools.
Proactive communicator with exceptional written, verbal, and formal presentation skills
Ability to make sound decisions and complete tasks in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to work independently and manage productivity
Solid experience using Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); virtual collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom)
Must have current and valid state driver’s license
Ability to travel up to 20%
