Introduction to Shield AI

Founded in 2015, Shield AI is a venture-backed defense technology company whose mission is to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems. Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for aerospace components. This position focuses on improving efficiency, ensuring high-quality production standards, and solving complex manufacturing challenges in a fast-paced startup environment. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality, to streamline operations, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of products. This role is critical to supporting the scaling of manufacturing as the company grows.


What You'll Do:
  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
  • Identify areas for efficiency improvements and cost reductions in production.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and improve quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production performance and ensure scalability.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or a related industry.
  • Experience with combustion engines
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with composite materials and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and data analysis for process optimization.


$145,710 - $231,761 a year

Salary compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. All offers are contingent on a cleared background and possible reference check.
