The role
As a Senior QA Engineer at ShiftKey, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and leading best practices for both manual and automated testing. In this dual-focused role within both the central QA team and an Engineering Squad, you will actively contribute to delivering increments, testing user stories, and participating in Agile ceremonies. Your expertise will be crucial in expanding API tests and enhancing our already strong web testing capabilities. Expect to dedicate approximately 30% to 50% of your time to driving test automation initiatives.
Moreover, you will mentor and elevate the technical skills of less experienced QA engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in testing practices across the organization.
Where you’ll work
You have to be located in Poland to be considered for this position. You’ll have the flexibility to choose between remote work or working from our office in Warsaw.
What you’ll be doing
Designing, creating, and updating tests for new functionality and regression tests, including those for the most complex IT solutions.
Executing both manual and automated tests and documenting results using agreed standards.
Participating in implementing automated testing strategies across multiple platforms (e.g., web, mobile) by designing and developing automated test cases.
Analyzing automated test case results and independently fixing standard defects in automated tests.
Proactively identifying new opportunities and advocating for improvements to the current manual and automated testing processes.
What you’ll need
At least 5 years of experience in QA, with a minimum of 2 years focused on test automation.
Proficiency in Cypress for automation testing.
Solid experience in TypeScript or JavaScript.
Experience with any API test automation tool.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
Hands-on experience implementing automation at various test levels (API, UI).
Ability to assess test coverage, identify gaps, and use appropriate tools to address them.
Skilled in creating, executing, and maintaining both manual and automated tests for Web and Mobile applications.
Strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
Experience in using SQL queries for testing purposes.
Our tech stack
Cypress, JavaScript, Postman, BitBucket (for CI/CD), and PHP on the backend (used for Data Seeding in Test Automation).
