Shipping and Receiving Leads are in charge of making sure merchandise is safely and properly received and shipped out. You serve as a role model as you help direct the work of Shipping and Receiving Specialist team. Specific responsibilities include:
Trains Shipping and Receiving Specialists the job functions and capabilities required for success in the role
Receives vendor and internal shipments in accordance to REI policy and procedure
Prices, organizes, evaluates or ships customer and product quality returns
Finds opportunities to return product into inventory that can be restocked and sold in-store
Processes and tracks customer mail-outs, inventory transfers, vendor or quality returns in an accurate fashion
Creates the needed flow of merchandise to the selling floor or stock as required
Performs recurring cycle counts and audits of targeted inventory as requested
Provides warehouse support, stocking or inventory functions
Follows loss prevention and safety procedures as directed by store management
Assumes responsibility for other functions as requested such as recycling, trash removal or simple maintenance tasks
Helps with sale preparation or damage and Garage Sale set up as requested

Shipping and Receiving Specialists are dedicated to quality control and seek methods to improve processes and decrease defects. Skills that make for a great addition to our team:
3-7 years prior shipping and receiving experience or equivalent (preferred)
Ability to transfer up to 35 pounds periodically for up to two hours
Ability to safely operate power material handling equipment as necessary
Basic computer skills which include Microsoft Word and Outlook Email.
Previous experience in a warehouse, retail or shipping/receiving environment (preferred)
Detail-orientation in performing accurate transactions
Adherence to REI policies and procedures
Self-motivated and multi-tasks with minimal supervision
Proactively meets both internal and external customer needs
Effective work methods and meets commitments
Uses good judgment and choice-making skills
Effective communication skills- clear, concise and positive

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, REI provides a range of compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors.
The pay for this role is: $25.27 - $29.72 per hour.
