The team works across the organization to improve the digital experience, educate on best practices, collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders—contributing expertise in SEO, content findability/search, accessibility/ section 508 compliance, and content management systems/associated technologies. We use data to drive and support decisions in the work we do every day.ummaryThe Senior Specialist, Web Content manages website content for SHRM’s website properties, collaborating with internal subject matter experts to transform information into SEO friendly, engaging content that elevates the SHRM website presence and aligns with organizational content strategy. The role acts as an advocate and staff expert for effective web content and collaborates with team members in enforcing website governance and digital best practices, including voice and tone and brand guidelines. The Senior Specialist, Web Content ensures that content is error free, taxonomy is applied correctly, and that search, and accessibility are part of the content process.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic to SHRM’s web properties.Conduct regular SEO audits, monitor website performance, analyze data and prepare reports using tools such as Customer Journey Analytics, Google Search Console and SEMrush to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to produce high-quality, SEO-friendly content that aligns with SHRM’s brand and content strategy and provide SEO training and best practices to content creators and other staff members.Ensure web content is user-centric, easily navigable and engaging to enhance the overall customer experience, implementing best practices for website usability and accessibility.Stay updated on the latest SEO trends, digital marketing innovations, and industry best practices, applying new techniques and tools to keep SHRM’s web properties competitive and effective.Manage SEO and web content projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to goals.Other projects and duties as assigned.Education & Work RequirementsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.Minimum of 3 years’ experience with managing, writing, and editing content (including text, images, graphics).Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with and using content management systems to manage website content.Experience working in a team environment, where collaboration and positive working relationships are a priority.CertificationsN/AKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesWorking knowledge of HTMLUnderstanding of search engine optimization and how metadata and taxonomy support search resultsProven understanding of best practices for writing for the web and other digital platforms, including mobileKnowledge of principles of accessibility and section 508 complianceProven understanding of branding, audience, and the importance of consistent voice and toneExcellent website writing and editing skills, solid editorial judgement, verbal communication, coordination, and project management skills.Knowledge of user experience best practicesAbility to manage and prioritize content requests in a fast-paced environment.Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Tools preferred.Physical RequirementsRegularly required to sit; talk and hear, use hands to type, file, handle or feel. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
