This position will be based atour Sacramento area branch located in California.During your journeywith us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Coachesand Trainsets Department where you will work with Project Managers onour Coach and Trainset projects across several states and internationally withsuppliers and other Siemens locations in North America and Europe. We craft and manufactureacross the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regionalpassenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passengercoaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us toprovide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well assignaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transitsystems.How does (department) plays into the bigpicture?Our Rolling Stock team works on delivering productofferings such as light rail vehicles, electric locomotives, diesel-electriclocomotives, and passenger coaches. Our operations team ensures thatdepartments like employee health & safety, supply chain management,logistics, car shell welding, bogie fabrication and assembly, electricalsubassembly, gluing, painting, and vehicle final assembly run smoothly.The candidate will participate in internal and externalmeetings for the projects, work with our Project Managers and Engineers ondesign improvements, technical documentation, Coach production, fieldmodifications and test procedures. Depending on your background and previousexperience, ownership of a sub project from start to finish is alsopossible.What your day-to-daywill look like• * Has an entrepreneurial and growth mindset• Can work autonomously• Is at least a Junior in Mechanical orElectrical Engineering• Has knowledge of Microsoft office programs andCAD programs• Has previous project experience (e.g.internships, student projects)Critical Capabilities:• Resourcefulness• Problem solving• Collaborative mindset• Ability to work independently as neededWho Should Apply?• with strong technical oranalytical aptitude• Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August• Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized foremployment in the United States without the need for current or futureemployer-sponsored work authorization• Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) with apreferred cumulative GPA of 3.0• Demonstrated leadership potential• Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinkingskills• Industry knowledge and/or interestYou’ll benefitfrom:The hourly pay range forthis position is $22 - $26 per hour, based off of your projected graduationyear. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budgetand candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premiumgeographic location.
