Job Description

Summary of Position

The Jr. Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting Silfab Solar's IT infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of the company's IT systems. The incumbent will work closely with the IT Manager and other IT staff to ensure that the company's IT systems are running efficiently and effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring operating systems and software on servers and desktop computers.
  • Managing and maintaining servers and network infrastructure.
  • Managing user accounts and permissions.
  • Monitoring system performance and security.
  • Managing and maintaining software and security updates.
  • Supporting end users with technical issues.
  • Documenting and maintaining IT procedures and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and procedures.
  • Providing remote support to users in multiple locations
  • Managing and maintaining IT asset inventory
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and make recommendations for improvements to the IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

Skills

  • System admins should have a solid understanding of operating systems, servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Familiar with various software and tools used for system administration, such as virtualization, storage, and backup solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. They will often need to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to analyze and diagnose issues quickly and effectively.

Traits

  • Keen attention to detail, as they will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting complex IT systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.

Education and/or Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, candidates may also be considered with an Associate's degree or relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding in a Business and technical environment, standards, processes, programming languages and operating systems.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ will be an advantage.
