Territory Manager - Western Canada

Position:  Territory Manager– Western Canada   

We are looking for a Territory Manager– Western Canada to join our Sales team!  This role is for an early starter (7:00am or earlier dependent on business needs), who will call on Club (Costco) and Loblaw (RCSS) banners in Western Canada effectively maintaining and developing banner level relationships with key department personnel such as Grocery and Bakery Managers. Activities including but not limited to ensuring H.O. plan-o-gram compliance in RCSS Grocery banners and influencing space decisions at Costco banners for our listed products by building ongoing relationships with the Costco Grocery Manager.

 

Presenting category data to influence decision makers, pursuing opportunities for increasing space on and off-shelf, ensuring compliance to H.O. driven promotions with proper execution. Other duties could include regular pricing audits, collecting competitive info and merchandising where allowable.

Knowledge & skills

  • You have strong knowledge of territory management functions specific to Food and/or CPG/Food Service industry
  • You have the knowledge of healthy eating and lifestyle choices
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You have excellent computer skills including MS Office Suite, MacOS, and more

Experience

  • You have at least 4-7 years’ experience in territory management in Consumer Products Goods and/or Baking industry. Experience calling on Club channel and Grocery chains is strongly preferred
  • You have an undergraduate degree in Business or relevant work experience
  • You possess a valid B.C. license and own a vehicle

things you will do…

  • Provide quality territory leadership and cultivate relationships with key department personnel  for Silver Hills
  • Call on Costco (Club) and RCSS (Grocery) banners in Western region and influence strategies in Costco/RCSS that will help achieve/ensure Gold Standard execution of plan-o-grams in Grocery while influencing greater share of space for our products in Costco
  • Address all issues on banner visits with key department  decision makers that are a barrier to success such as out of stocks, missing shelf tags, and competitive tactics that compromise space for our products
  • In RCSS, specifically in Commercial Bakery, ensure that our products are being slacked out properly and rotated providing education/direction as necessary with department personnel such as the Bakery/Commercial Bread Manager
  • Ensure any H.O. promotions are being executed effectively
  • Have the appropriate selling tools available upon visits such as published plan-o-grams, fact-based presentations provided (1-3 pages) and sell-sheets
  • Become the banner level brand ambassador to provide relevant fact-based insights to influence support for our brands to drive greater plan-o-gram compliance in RCSS and influence of merchandising space in Costco outlets
  • Maintain a predetermined regular frequency of banner visits within designated territory that will help foster strong relationships with banner level decision makers such as Grocery/Bakery Managers
  • Willing to recap the work of the day using scorecards we develop to track performance

OTHER…

  • Ability to travel (40-50%)
  • This is an early start role where expectation would be first store call made no later than 7am to connect with Costco Grocery and RCSS Bakery Managers who start early
  • This is a home based role that will require travel outside of B.C. to Alberta, for mutually agreed- to frequency of continuity coverage in Costco and RCSS outlet/stores within territory
