Key responsibilities for the Sales Operations Associate include supporting Director of Event Management with Corporate event programming (AuthorFest, Seasonal Previews), author event coordination with Publicity, Sales and bookstores, coordination of educational and library trade shows, consumer facing trade shows and seasonal corporate events. Support of Trade Shows includes sponsorship, registration, coordination and shipment of materials, coordinating hotel arrangements and booth setup for over 20 annual shows.
Responsibilities:
Author Events
Author Tour Planning for 2000+ events per year:
• Seasonal Tour Markets Coordination
• Post tour markets into Edelweiss
• Author Event Confirmations
• Assist Director and Publicity with tour planning and author history
Build Bookstore Profiles:
• Working with Accounts and Sales to build bookstore profiles
Collect Author Event Results
Reconcile Monthly Author Coop Reports
Event Book Orders
• Signed First Edition clubs
• Coordinate with Publicity and the Author
• Stock Signing Inventory
Corporate Virtual Events
• AuthorFest Annual Events (2+ per year)
• Provide support to Director
• Manage Book Festival Resource Page
• Build Book Festival Partnership
• Book Festival Resource
Create & maintain master list of book festivals
Update regional and category digital catalogs
• Liaise with Advertising & Promotions and Imprint Marketing on promotion of events
• S&S Seasonal Previews (3+ per year)
• Provide support to Director
• Liaise with Advertising & Promotions and Imprint Marketing on promotion of event
Trade Shows
Ed/Library Shows
• Securing booth space, ordering furniture and lead retrieval, placing order for books, and booking hotels for 10 academic trade shows a year.
Support Corporate Trade Shows
• Comic Con San Diego (on-site support)
• Hotel block and reservation
• Booth space, furnishings, and construction
• Badge registration
• Book orders & tracking
• New York Comic Con (on-site support)
• Booth space, furnishings, and construction
• Badge registration
• Book orders & tracking
Additional Responsibilities include:
• Edelweiss catalogs and contacts
• Sales Meeting Support (approx 50 days/calendar year)
• Wholly Owned
• Meeting Support: sharing digital catalog and taking notes
• System Training (Publicity, Marketing)
Qualifications:
• Education: BA or BS
• Previous Experience: Experience in Bookstore, Customer Service, Sales Support or Event Management
• Skills: Ability to plan, organize & prioritize a varied workload; Strong organizational and project management skills; Detail Oriented; Website Design Knowledge; Proficient in Excel; Eager to Learn; Effectively communicate with all levels of management; Ability to set and meet critical dates timeline for sales organization.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
