Director of Content Marketing & SEO

We are seeking a visionary and accomplished Director of Content Marketing and SEO Strategy to spearhead our digital marketing initiatives. This leadership role is pivotal in shaping our online presence, elevating brand visibility, and strategically driving organic growth. 


In this role, you will orchestrate comprehensive content strategies while overseeing technical SEO management, positioning our organization as an industry leader. As a member of our Marketing leadership team, you will be inspiring marketers across our entire organization to collaborate, innovate and grow our business. You will report to the VP of Marketing and manage a team of content writers and SEO experts, composed of in-house talent and external agencies.


Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Devise and execute high growth content marketing and SEO strategies aligned with overarching business objectives. Define a multi-year organic growth roadmap maximizing SEO, and content. Lead Content & SEO initiatives that drive customer acquisition, improve website visibility and achieve performance goals.
  • Team Management: Lead and inspire a high performing team of in-house experts and external agency resources, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence in content ideation, production and SEO optimization.
  • Innovation and Adaptability: Stay ahead of industry trends, anticipating shifts in search engine algorithms, and proactively adjusting strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize advanced analytics tools to derive actionable insights, making data-driven decisions to refine and enhance Content and SEO strategies and demonstrate business impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, ensuring a harmonious and impactful integration of content initiatives within the broader marketing and business framework.
  • Thought Leadership: Position the organization as a thought leader by developing and executing cutting-edge content strategies that resonate with our target audience and industry stakeholders
  • Link-Building Mastery: Oversee the development of strategic link-building initiatives, cultivating valuable off-page SEO opportunities.
  • Technical SEO Mastery: Manage technical SEO aspects, collaborating with web development teams to optimize site architecture, crawlability, and mobile responsiveness.


Qualifications:
  • 10-15 years of proven experience in crafting and executing comprehensive content marketing and SEO strategies that drive full funnel growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire expert teams, both in-house and external agencies, fostering a culture of innovation and performance.
  • Demonstrated experience in content ideation, production and optimization
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms, and emerging trends.
  • Proficiency in advanced Content and SEO and analytics tools, translating data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, ensuring seamless alignment with cross-functional teams.
  • Track record of delivering quantifiable results in online visibility and organic growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to position an organization as a thought leader through innovative content strategies.

What's going on with work from home and return to the office?


At Simply Business, we’ve shifted to a hybrid working model, meaning we have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time. That means our SBers have more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.


There are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We know that taking time for in-person connections in our hubs (that’s what we call our offices) contributes to our community and our culture - it’s what makes SB great and helps us stand out, which is one reason why we were listed on BuiltIn’s Best Places to Work in Boston for 2023! It also helps to accelerate trust, collaboration, and innovation, which in turn leads to better results and customer outcomes. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs at least four times a month. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.
